What Is a Pullet?
A pullet is a young hen that has not yet come into lay. At Aytekin Poultry we rear healthy, high-quality pullets in our dedicated rearing facilities.
Cared for and fed with great attention by our professional team, our pullets are raised in purpose-built poultry houses using modern technology. Combining high-performance layer strains with optimum husbandry and feeding conditions, the pullets we rear go on to deliver outstanding laying performance.
Our Rearing Process
Hatchery and Brooding Period
Day-old chicks arriving at our facility are brooded in line with the temperature and lighting values set out in the breed management guides. A vaccination programme is then drawn up in view of the disease challenges present in the field, and every vaccine scheduled in that programme is administered
Rearing Period
During the rearing period, our pullets are gradually transitioned onto adult layer rations. Throughout this stage they are fed on rations matching the values in the management guides and kept under appropriate temperature, lighting and ventilation conditions. They are vaccinated in accordance with the vaccination programme and undergo routine health checks.
Maturity and Final Inspection
From day 100 onwards our pullets are inspected and, once they have reached the body weight and flock uniformity targets given in the management guides, they are delivered to our customers. At this stage, body weight, skeletal development and overall health status are assessed in detail. Only pullets that pass every one of our quality checks are released to customers.
